Hola chicas!

Thanks to everyone who attended Moms' night at Lauren's a couple of weeks ago and welcomed me so warmly to the group. It was a great night and I'm looking forward to getting to know you all. We are excited to make our way from Miami and settling permanently in Nashville. We are a family of three, including my husband, Tom, and our 3-year old, Lucas, who is curious, funny, and active. I will keep you posted on our journey.

For now, I am providing a link to my blog www.mundobean.blogspot.com (Tiffany, will you please post in the blog roll?). Here are recent photos of Lucas.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year everyone!

Happy Birthday Cooper!!

I am posting this a day early, I'm sure tomorrow I'll be very busy. My sweet Cooper will be 1 year old tomorrow at 6:08 pm (and not a second before). This has been the best year and Cooper has made me happier than I ever could imagine. I have never known a love so deep, and yet our Heavenly Father loves us even MORE!! That is unimaginable, and that he sent his son to die for us. That is so far beyond our human knowledge. Thank you to all of the DS moms for embracing us, we love you all!! I'm so glad Cooper has your all's kids to grow up with. Happy Birthday Coop and (happy 5 yr anniversary to me!) Tomorrow morning you can read Coop's entire birth story on my blog (that is..if you have a lot of time)haha.

Honey Bear and Recipe

Hey guys!

I was telling a few of you about how I got Etta to drink from a straw while we were at Mom's Night on Saturday. Here is a link to the Honey Bear...

Also, a few of you asked for the recipe for those Peanut Butter Rice Krispy things I made...

"Peanut Butter Crunch"

1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. white corn syrup
2/3 c. crunchy peanut butter
1/2 t. vanilla
3 c. cornflakes OR rice krispies

-Combine sugar and syrup in pan/pot and boil
-Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter and vanilla
-Add cereal, stir
-Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper, they will firm up as they cool.
- Yields about 24 treats

Let's Band Together to Get Jenny's Heroes to Help Reece's Rainbow!

Hi Friends,

Some of you might have already seen the post about Jenny's Heroes on my blog. Jenny's Heroes is a foundation set up by Jenny Jones, a celebrity who has committed to giving away $2 million dollars over 2 years. She wants everyday people to tell her how to spend her money, up to $25,000 per Hero! I have already requested that she give a full $25,000 award to Reece's Rainbow because when children are wanted they shouldn't have to wait for their Forever Families raise money to bring them home. I don't imagine that the Foundation would give multiple awards to RR, but maybe we can band together and channel our love for special children everywhere to persuade them to help RR. It only takes a few minutes to complete the application (that's not counting breaks to cry and pray). Since I've already submitted my request, I can't go back and mention that I am part of a group. But maybe the rest of you can. Post a comment if you ask Jenny for $25,000 to bring children home!

Have a great weekend!

p.s. that's a picture of Jenny Jones, not me! My hair is never that neat!

Our December Playdate (Photos)

We had a GREAT turn out for our playdate this month! The only problem was that the location was closed when we got there! GAH! There were lots of windows, so we could all SEE that KidPark is a pretty neat place to play, but it was closed for repair (which they COULD have posted on their website *sigh*). It turned out all right in the end. We just hung out in the atrium area right outside the KidPark entrance and made do with bubbles and ring-around-the-rosie and a little basketball goal and lots of stairs for the bigger kids to run up and down. After we had our book exchange, many of us headed over to Snappy Pizza in Nipper's Corner for some lunch. We took over the place and the staff there frantically threw pizzas in the oven upon our arrival.

We will probably try to have January's Playdate at KidPark again. I'll make sure to call ahead this time....

Picture Mania begins...... NOW!
